Nature Calgary holds a banquet each fall, featuring a notable guest speaker on wide ranging topics. Past speakers include Ben Gadd and Dr. Stephen Herrero. In 2011 Andrew Brash recounted his experience of climbing Mount Everest that made headlines around the world. In 2012 Karsten Heuer inspired us with his travels and passion for nature. In 2013 Jon Turk gave us a thought-provoking view of our relationship with the wild world. In 2014 we heard about polar exploration and polar bear evasion from Bob Saunders. In 2015 Kevin van Tighem spoke about the need to protect our headwaters, in “Heartwaters”. in 2016 John Acorn reviewed his favourite Alberta birding spots. This is a great chance to socialize with fellow members, enjoy a hearty three-course meal, and maybe go home with one of the donated door prizes.
The 2017 speaker is Chic Scott – November 4, 2017
