The March Meeting for the Nature Calgary Bird Study Group will feature a presentation by Greg Wagner, titled How To Manage an Important Bird Area – My Experiences at Frank Lake:
Greg Wagner is a wildlife and assessment biologist who has worked extensively in Western Canada and the Arctic. He has been involved in multiple Important Bird Area (IBA) projects and will give an overview of the history and conservation of Frank Lake and the IBA Program. He will describe the roles and responsibilities of an IBA caretaker as well as conservation issues and bird management at Frank Lake. In addition to his current role as Volunteer Caretaker for the Frank Lake IBA, Greg coordinates the High River Christmas Bird Count and also runs the Hays Breeding Bird Survey.

Note: Bird Study Group meetings are free to Nature Calgary members as well as for non-members who are attending for the first time. Non-members who attend a meeting for the second or more times are asked to pay a nominal fee of $5.00 per event.
