Biogeoscience Institute, University of Calgary, announces their annual Spring Naturalist Weekend, June 13 – 15, 2014 at the Barrier Lake Field Station in Kananaskis Country. Cost: $125 + GST, includes 5 meals and accommodation for 2 nights. Guest scientists include Dr. Nikil Lobo, University of Alberta, who is interested in the patterns and mechanisms of animal responses to changes in the quality and availability of resources in their environment. One of Nikhil’s current research projects has focused on the inter-annual variation of Buffaloberries (Shepherdia canadensis) and its effects on grizzly bears.
